Culinary specialties

Aveyron is a region that will make your mouth water with its many specialties. You cannot pass through the region without tasting Roquefort. Roquefort is the first cheese to have benefited from the Protected Designation of Origin. There are seven manufacturers of Roquefort: Société, Papillon, Gabriel Coulet, Vernières, le Vieux Berger, Carles and Fromageries Occitanes La Pastourelle. The Sociétés, Papillon and Gabriel Coulet cellars open their doors to visits.

You may be lucky enough to taste sausage aligot, sheep's milk flan, spit cake, Aveyron lamb and many other cheeses. Your hosts will provide you with a list of traditional restaurants in the area that will delight small and large appetites.

Regional markets

Meet in the city center of Millau, on Place Foch, to discover the market. Every Wednesday and Friday morning of the year, the square comes alive to welcome numerous exhibitors. Leave with your basket filled with good and beautiful products from the region. From the beautiful days of summer, Millau offers you a night market. The surrounding villages also host weekly markets. Ask your hosts for advice.
